    ABOUT DISTRICT COURT

    Udaipur City lies in the hills just east of the Aravalli Range, about 65 miles (100 km) southwest of Chittaurgarh. Udaipur (“City of Sunrise”) was made the capital of the princely state of Udaipur (Mewar) in 1568 by Maharaja Udai Singh after the sack of Chittaurgarh. Udaipur princely state was established in the 8th century by Sisodia Rajputs (warrior rulers of the historic region of Rajputana).
